Trump-Loving Senate Candidate Faces Horrific Allegations of Beating His Children in New Court Documents

Newly revealed court documents show that Trump-loving Missouri Senate candidate Eric Greitens has been accused of physically abusing both his ex-wife and their children.

The Washington Post reports that Sheena Greitens leveled horrific allegations against her ex-husband in new court documents related to the couple’s custody battle over their two children.

“In early June 2018, I became afraid for my safety and that of our children at our home, which was fairly isolated, due to Eric’s unstable and coercive behavior,” Sheena Greitens alleged in the filing. “This behavior included physical violence toward our children, such as cuffing our then three-year-old son across the face at the dinner table in front of me and yanking him around by the hair.”

Sheena Greitens also detailed an alleged incident in which one of her children came home with serious injuries after a visit with their father, as the child returned with “a swollen face, bleeding gums, and a loose tooth” that later had to be removed.

The Missouri Senate candidate told his wife that he and the child were merely “roughhousing” and that the injuries occurred by “accident,” according to court documents.

Greitens also claimed that her husband would repeatedly threaten to kill himself if she did not support him during the scandal that ended his tenure as Missouri governor.

‘Qanon Word Salad’: Blackburn Destroyed for Going ‘Full Transphobe’ at Ketanji Brown Jackson Confirmation Hearing

U. S. Senator Marsha Blackburn is taking heat for outrageous remarks she made during the Senate confirmation hearing of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to be the next Supreme Court Justice. During her opening statement, the extremist Tennessee GOP lawmaker accused the accomplished jurist of having a “hidden’ critical race theory “agenda” while supporting pedophiles. She made transphobic and homophobic remarks, and claimed “white privilege” does not exist.

“Educators are allowing biological males to steal opportunities from female athletes in the name of progressivism,” Blackburn told Judge Jackson at one point. “Some girls have been forced to share lockerroom with biological males,” she went on. “You serve in the board of a school that teaches kindergarteners – 5-year-old children – that they can choose their gender, and teaches them about so-called white privilege.”

“Your philosophy or lack thereof may be the root of the problem here,” Blackburn continued. “And you have made clear that judges must consider Critical Race Theory when deciding how to sentence criminal defendants.”

The Tennessee far-right Republican was pilloried on social media:

I don’t know how Marsha Blackburn does it, but she has managed to be three equal parts of stupid, lunatic and of course racist.

Lol what?

Sen. Blackburn is just making sure you know she is a bigoted asshole with her speech.

Powerful protest songs from Kenya and South Africa

Music has been integral to Africa's liberation and freedom struggles

Kamaru’s explanation suggested the name “Daniel” was a reference to the Biblical Daniel, who was thrown into a cave with the lions for refusing to bow to the King. As a compromise, Moi requested for the song to be translated into the national language, Swahili. Though the song was released by Kamaru, it never enjoyed as much airplay as the Kikuyu version, much to Kamaru’s dismay.

The on-and-off relations of Joseph Kamaru’s songs and the politicians of the day meant that while many politicians attempted to dictate or ban songs, the intersection of creativity, socio-political issues, and common voice of the ills affecting the populace prevailed. The same issues are still resonant with the current state of affairs in Kenya.

Makeba had to go into exile in 1960 and was shortly banned from returning to South Africa. She went on to become a global icon in the US and continued to perform and write protest songs that spoke out against apartheid around the world.

What most of these songs and musicians signify is the common currency of protest and speaking against societal ills and discrimination irrespective of socio-economic stature. These songs while temporarily off-air, were able to see the day of light and flood our airwaves, allowing audiences across the countries to listen and learn from the musical phenomena.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders Has Just 33 Words for the Largest Mass Shooting This Year That Just Happened in Her State

Arkansas’s current governor, Republican Asa Hutchinson, issued this statement on Sunday, calling the mass shooting “a total disregard of the value of life.”

Sarah Huckabee Sanders also issued a statement, on Twitter only, not on any other of the social media accounts listed on her campaign website. “Prayers,” she offered, calling it “senseless and tragic,” and thanking law enforcement. It was just 33 words.

The photo she tweeted includes her, her husband, a Huckabee Sanders campaign bus, and signs advertising guns and ammo.

“God’s Country is apparently located somewhere between Deadwood and Tombstone. God should move to a better neighborhood. She’s not safe where She is,” observed Pierce.

Huckabee Sanders has said nothing more about the horrific gun violence, at least nothing on her social media accounts or published in news online.

Watch Live: Supreme Court Nominee Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s Senate Confirmation Hearings

Judge Jackson, 51, is considered by legal experts to have more experience than any of those currently sitting on the Supreme Court did at the time of their nomination.

The Washinton Post on Sunday charted her experience against the justices currently sitting on the bench:

But because she is the first Black woman ever to be nominated to the U.S. Supreme Court –  in 233 years – Republicans are expected to put up a major battle. U.S. Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) of insurrection fist-pumping fame, has been falsely claiming she is soft on those charged with child pornography.

Congresswoman? Sarah Palin Says She Has Feet Big Enough to Fill Late Alaska Rep’s Shoes – and Will if Asked

Appearing on the far right wing media outlet Newsmax Sarah Palin was asked if she would say yes if asked to replace the late Republican Congressman from Alaska, Don Young, who died Friday at the age of 88.

“If I were asked to serve in the House and take his place I would be humbled and honored,” Palin said. “In a heartbeat, I would.

“We will see how this process goes in filling that seat – it would be an honor,” she added.

The country to end all countries: Russia vs. Ukraine

We are witnessing a fundamental transformation of Moscow’s place in the world

It is still too early to resolve the overarching questions as to whether this populist dénouement will play out in Kyiv, or The Hague.

Putin’s proxy war in Eastern Ukraine has, to this point (Feb 25, 2022), cost approximately 14,000 lives. More prosaically, the conflict has cost Ukraine an estimated 15 percent of its GDP every year since 2014.

Russia’s overhead is anybody’s guess, but has probably required less cash upfront. The tab has now risen dramatically for all concerned. War is an obscenity. But it is also obnoxiously expensive.

The gravity of the situation in Russia could be gauged from the series of narrative-grabbing events staged by Putin earlier this week. The first was the “meeting” of his security council in which the latter was required to give sanction to recognizing the breakaway regions, but from a distance somewhat greater than 40 feet (12 meters). There was some suggestion that keeping Putin’s advisors at significantly greater than arm’s length had something to do with COVID-19, but it had the feel of an authoritarian spectacle. This impression was fortified by the strangely diffident demeanor of the security councilmen. Most seemed unenthusiastic about giving assent to the plan and several fluffed their lines.

There was an oddly pantomime quality to the affair, as if what was happening was not a matter of giving advice, but of getting everybody on record so blame could be properly apportioned if things went south. The Supreme Leader followed this up with a speech that put the rhetorical cherry on top of his prior announcement.

Putin began by arguing that Ukraine did not really exist, or rather it was simply a creature of malign Bolshevik mapmakers. Lenin was to blame. This is a theme to which Putin has frequently adverted since the noughties. He followed it up by suggesting the Russian dismemberment of Ukraine would just be a matter of completing the process of decommunization.

Ukraine today, Putin argued, is an expression of divisive nationalism, predicated on equal measures of Russophobia and neo-Nazism.

There are, indeed, extreme-right groups in Ukraine today, and it would be more shocking if they weren’t trying to undermine the country’s newly democratic institutions. In that sense, Ukraine is like the rest of Eastern Europe. But, ironically it is less reactionary than NATO and EU member states in the region, like Hungary and Poland. Still, the answer to the question as to whether the Ukrainian or the Russian side is the Nazi side is, obvious.

The Eurasian aspect is one of the least understood. Particularly concerning are the distinctions right-wing Russians often draw between themselves and the “Anglo-Saxons.” In Putin’s populist imagination, Russia is an ethnos, not a multicultural country. You hear such references all the time from Kremlin spokespersons.

If only the West was that simple. Thus, the animus gets directed at Ukraine’s likely Jewish oligarchs, who, unlike those in Russia, cleave to the Atlantic world to preserve their power and wealth. Ukrainian elites are responsible for every sin in the calendar, from trying to extirpate Russian culture to fomenting violence by everyone from neo-Nazis to Islamic terrorists. According to this worldview, their ultimate goal is to get Ukraine into NATO so that it can undermine Russia, both militarily and economically, to protect their interests.

Why the country’s rich would want to commit national suicide this way is something only Putin seems to know. It works for him, at least, and makes for a typically conspiratorial echo chamber.

If life in our post-truth environment has taught us nothing else, with repetition, truth accretes. The Kremlin has shown itself more than able to bullshit the world to death. But it’s the nature of warfare to multiply lies like this, and racist disinformation reflects Putin’s nationalist politics.

Today’s turn of events should come as a surprise to no one. Vladimir Putin has a long history of using military force in areas where he sees the possibility of Russian advantage. From Chechnya to Georgia, to Syria and Crimea, the ex-KGB officer has repeatedly flouted international law in pursuit of recouping Soviet real estate.

Disregarding the rule of law is routine among imperial powers. One has only to look at American justifications for invading Iraq and Afghanistan. They were also based on fantasies and lies. But even by those standards, the invasion of Ukraine is a particularly brazen assault on the status quo — in this case, the European security order that has existed, more or less, since 1945.

NATO may have broken agreements not to expand to Russia’s former colonial assets. The issue is that they wanted in, to protect themselves if Moscow went off the deep end again. Like today.

It’s a classic Catch-22, making it impossible to do the right thing. East and West are both to blame.

Would you want to share a border with Russia? Even in the best of times, the relationship requires a lot of management and even more defence spending. Just ask the Finns, the Norwegians or the Swedes.

Concerning Ukraine, there is a range of possibilities as to how this situation could play out. For the last couple of weeks, what seemed to be the smart money would have been on a limited intervention into the eastern regions of the country. This would have been easier to justify in terms of the defence of the breakaway territories than the invasion taking place now.

This might have allowed time for more cracks to appear in the already shaky edifice that is the North Atlantic security system. Certainly, it would have provoked sanctions. But a more limited operation would have allowed the US and EU to spend more time arguing about which sanctions were most appropriate, and how long they should be used.

Vladimir Putin opted for the go-for-broke option, thinking that it might be best to tear off the bandage at the first go.

Although Russia’s income from oil and natural gas could be expected to rise, the cost of the inevitable sanctions and disruptions to other trade could easily balance that out. Ironically, the longer the price of oil stays high, the more likely the fracking operations in the US and elsewhere will come back on line, threatening to drive prices down and hurt Moscow.

The longer Russian troops spend in Ukraine, and the more heavy-handed their presence, the greater the likelihood of a homegrown insurgency forming to challenge them.

Russia’s experiences with guerrilla warfare have so far run the gamut from failure in Afghanistan to an extremely costly victory in Chechnya. Both of those wars were fought out in places where Americans and Europeans care little for the local populations or feared that they were hopeless jihadists, and might as well be thinned out. Ukrainians, on the other hand, are whites in the Western lexicon. They’re like us. The prospects of fighting a long-term guerrilla war with them will make Russia’s bad image even worse.

Whatever the outcome, it’s hard to imagine Russia returning to the comity of responsible nations, banking in London and exporting gas to Germany. What we are witnessing is a fundamental transformation of Moscow’s place in the world.

Just as with the case of COVID-19, there is no longer a “normal” status quo ante to which affairs could revert. The situation is fluid and changing rapidly. It’s difficult to keep current, and one suspects that today’s analysis will have a very short shelf date.

What is clear is that we are watching the unfolding of a horrific tragedy. Today’s events are a disaster, and greater calamities seem certain to follow.

‘Appalled’ Former Reagan Official Drops the Hammer on Fox News for ‘Pernicious’ Putin Support

Fox News personalities are flat out scaring their viewers into believing that any moves the United States makes to arm Ukraine to defend itself against the Russian war machine could trigger World War III.

That’s the view of Linda Chavez, who served in the Reagan White House as director of public liaison. She now is a senior fellow at the National Immigration Forum. Writing in The Bulwark, Chavez says, “Tucker Carlson, whom I watched the other night, nearly gave me a stroke when he started essentially apologizing for Vladimir Putin, which he does almost every night on his show.”

Chavez notes, “It is so appalling what is taking place on Fox News. And it’s Tucker Carlson, it’s Laura Ingraham, it’s Greg Gutfeld—Greg, by the way, he is married to a Ukrainian woman. He just had to help his mother-in-law escape from Ukraine. So, I do not understand this.”

She writes: “In addition to bashing NATO and acting as if NATO is somehow a threat to world peace … they are also trying to scare their listeners into thinking that if we do anything more — including providing the S-300s, providing the drone switchblades, providing airplanes, or, God forbid, actually setting up a no-fly zone — that Vladimir Putin is going to launch a nuclear attack. And that it’s going to be justified. This is really pernicious.”

As an example, Chavez said that the Fox News nuclear war drumbeat has scared members of her own family, some of whom watch the network regularly, to consider moving from Tucson to the highlands of Mexico to avoid what they see as a coming Russian nuclear strike.
